The Chestnuts Country House B&B offers three guest bedrooms in a beautiful rural setting in the hamlet of Alverton.
The guest rooms are privately set in a converted former coach house and stable block. Each room is ensuite, with king sized four poster beds, vaulted ceilings with original oak beams and patio doors opening onto the garden.
Rooms are well appointed with two sofas, a dressing table, 50-inch TVs, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Beds are fitted with English made pillow top mattresses and fine linens and all rooms have ensuite shower rooms.
Breakfast is provided in the main house at a large gothic dining table, warmed in winter by an open fire. On warm summer mornings it can also be served on the walled garden terrace, with views across the Vale to St Mary’s Church Bottesford and Belvoir castle. Kelly is a keen gardener and forager and delights in finding unusual seasonal delicacies to make a compote for your morning yogurt, while all the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced.
The Chestnuts is beautifully set in three and a half acres of garden, including a croquet lawn and terrace. If you feel like a walk paths lead through a further 16 acres of paddock and woodland and stabling can be arranged if required.
There is wifi throughout The Chestnuts but its rural location means the connection is sometimes slow. This provides a great opportunity to switch off and relax.

The Chestnuts Country House is in Alverton, a small Vale of Belvoir Hamlet, located in the heart of rural Nottinghamshire. Open countryside surrounds the whole property. Belvoir Castle with its grounds and "Engine yard" artisan shopping is 10 minutes drive away. Eden Hall Day Spa, is 20 minutes away and makes a perfect relaxing addition to any stay. The historic Town of Newark on Trent with its castle gardens, river and antique shops is only a short drive. There are many country pubs with great food, all within 10 minutes drive.Reviews
