Welcome to Weobley!

Mellington House is an attractive 16th century B&B set in the centre of the black-and-white timbered village of Weobley, with three guest apartments in beautifully converted outbuildings. Beds are configured as twin, double, or in one two-bedroom suite, both: this makes it easy to accommodate families or groups of friends.

‘The Old Stable’ is on the ground floor with twin beds that can also be made up as a super king size double, this is ideal for those with limited mobility. ‘The Coach House’ has a double ‘loft style’ bedroom on the first floor and a potential extra bed can be made up in its lounge, and ‘The Hay Loft’ is a first-floor conversion which has a double bedroom and a twin. Rather than have ensuite facilities each apartment has its own private bath- or shower-room.  Each apartment has its own sitting room, a small kitchen stocked with milk in the fridge, and your own front door for private access to the street, garden and orchard.

A full English breakfast is served every day from April to November in the main dining room, but in the winter months from December to March accommodation is only on a self-catering basis. Conveniently, the village’s Green Bean Cafe is right next door: this is open year-round from Tuesday to Saturday.

Guests in here have off-street parking and direct access to Mellington House’s gardens. Spreading over a generous acre, these include flowerbeds, a large expanse of lawn and an orchard with chickens. Bliss in summer and pretty good at any time of year.

A few doors down  the street there’s the two-bedroom Cottage, a black-and white Tudor cottage that is only available on a self-catering basis. This property is even older than Mellington House: ‘The Cottage’ dates back to 1450 and is a living breathing part of Weobley’s history, and has its own private village garden: there’s street parking outside or you can leave your car at Mellington House a few steps away.

Weobley Village is very much on Herefordshire’s B&W village trail, and is a lively place with two pubs, two restaurants and a cafe. Quite apart from the historic appeal of the ancient timber-framed buildings there’s lots to see and do.

Mellington House B&B suggests:

With so many accommodation options Mellington House is perfect for large families or groups of friends wishing to travel together. Dogs can be accommodated in the village-centre Cottage and are permitted in one B&B guest bedroom by prior arrangement: call ahead to book.

Reviews

"Great base for Herefordshire. We often travel to Herefordshire to fish the Wye but our "usual" was booked, so a friend recommended Mellington House. So glad he did - Alison and Chris were both exceedingly friendly and helpful, the accommodation was lovely, and also cheaper than our previous place to boot. Lovely cooked breakfast as well. When we next return to Herefordshire, Mellington House will be our first choice!" S&A October 2022
