An enchanting country escape
In search of peace and quiet? Then look no further! Manor House Farm offers all that you could possibly wish for in luxury accommodation. Your hosts Libby and Robin Ellis have transformed their family home into an utterly beautiful bed and breakfast, with a garden that visitors flock to see whenever it is open under the National Gardens Scheme.
The converted stable wing offers two large and airy bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms, a spacious sitting room with wood burning stove and a small kitchen where guests can make themselves light refreshments. The twin room in the stable wing has been designed for wheelchair access.
In the main house, there is a further double B&B bedroom with en suite bathroom. Each room has been luxuriously furnished to ensure Wolsey Lodge guests’ absolute comfort. They can also provide stabling for guest’s horses.
Opened every year as part of the NGS, the four-acre garden offers a series of different spaces which surround the house on three sides. The unusual walled ‘Taj’ garden is a highlight; complete with formal carp pond, old-fashioned roses and tree peonies. Leading away from the house is a fragrant tunnel of roses with a pleached lime walk beyond and much more.
Delicious, hearty breakfasts are served in the family’s elegant Dining Room at the front of the main house. Eggs, bacon and sausages from the farm are cooked on the Aga and served alongside homemade jams and compotes made with garden fruits.

“There is such a lot to experience, explore and enjoy. The gardens surrounding the property were wonderful and it all added to the high quality and standard of what was available to us to enjoy whilst we were staying”
