Second outstanding visit
We have just reluctantly left after having another visit to this outstanding guest house. No wonder why they have some many returning guests, it is down to these gentlemen striving for perfection and going the extra mile. Despite the presence of Covid 19 they have even thought of every measure to protect us as guests and of course themselves in these trying times. A year on from our last visit and the standard at this perfect jewel is still is as high. Every efforts have been made to ensure your visit will be memorable. We must say a big thank you to the young waitress whose manners were outstanding and she is an added credit to your establishment. A big thank you to you both on delivering in excellence and quality
Lockdown Breakout
We decided to take a couple of days away after being locked down for months. Stayed at Glendon before so we knew what to expect or so we thought. Well gentlemen you have surpassed all expectations. The welcome was great, the information on what was required regarding hygiene was first class. Your hygiene standards are absolutely brilliant. Then there’s everything else we have come to expect. The rooms are everything you would want in a first class establishment. The breakfasts are out of this world. We’ve stayed in five star hotels and not had the quality that you provide. Gentlemen thank you for two wonderful days.
Excellent B&B- fantastic food and lovely staff
For my dad's birthday we had originally booked for April. We unfortunately had to postpone due to covid and the process was seamless. On top of this, the room was immaculate, the beds- comfy and the staff warm and welcoming despite the circumstances.
Fabulous, not to be missed.
We stayed here for a couple of nights on our trip to Matlock. It was fabulous! We had room three which was lovely. Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Great views over the courtyard to the surrounding area. Really good bathroom with a huge shower. Very quiet at night. The room had every amenity we needed, fridge with fresh milk each day, TV, kettle with a good selection of tea and coffee, a hairdryer (with a diffuser!) Can't think of anything that we needed that had not been thought about. Brilliant. The house itself is stunning and has many original features, and there is also a lounge for the guests which even offers a glass of port or sherry. Everything was immaculately clean and in these Covid-19 times, they made us feel very safe and looked after. I cannot fault this place. What really made it extra special was the welcome and hospitality of the hosts. We were welcomed with tea and cake on our arrival and they were always available to answer questions. They have got exactly the right balance of being chatty and hospitable whilst also leaving us in peace to enjoy our stay. Breakfast was superb. I don't think I have ever seen such an extensive menu in a guest house. We both had full English on the first day then eggs Florentine and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on the second. Marvellous, would definitely recommend. Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable
