At Dowfold House guests are free to bask on the patio, laze in the conservatory or relax on a sofa by the open fire. The extensive gardens are known for their flower borders, views over the Wear Valley and manicured lawns, ideal for games of croquet or boules.

There’s plenty to do in the area. The city of Durham is less than 20 minutes away, and Newcastle, Sunderland and the Durham Coast are within easy reach. The village of Crook, where Dowfold House is situated, is a gateway to the Durham Dales and the North Pennines National Landscape.
