Step back through time at this very special Lodge
Prepare to be warmly welcomed at West Stow Hall B&B by your hosts Eileen and Andy (and their family pets), followed by homemade afternoon tea, served just after your arrival in front of the magnificent inglenook fireplace – reputedly the largest in Suffolk. This Grade I listed Tudor house is complete with Gatehouse and colonnades It oozes Olde World charm while having every modern convenience.
Two large guest bedrooms are in the main house. Both are light, spacious and furnished with great care with the utmost attention to detail, ensuring your stay here is quite simply as comfortable as possible. A third bedroom offering even more privacy and peace is in a studio in the grounds. A good night’s sleep is followed by a hearty Suffolk breakfast with eggs from the hens in the garden and an array of fine, local fayre.
The gardens feature lavender lined paths, colourful flowers, an orchard and small woods. As well as being child-friendly, guests can, by arrangement, bring their horses and if staying in the Studio their dog for a small charge.

The historic town of Bury St Edmunds is a great base for Wolsey Lodge guests to explore Suffolk. The West Stow Anglo Saxon Village, Ely Cathedral, Fullers Mill Gardens, Newmarket racing and Cambridge are all within easy reach along with the NT properties of Anglesea Abbey and Ickworth Hall. Trout fishing, golfing, walking and cycling are great pastimes for holiday makers staying here.

- Bio : Andy is a retired lawyer whilst Eileen was a teacher. Andy’s keen interest in all things steam is evident in the splendid engines parked in the driveway which he enjoys showing to guests. Eileen is a good cook and enjoys welcoming and looking after her Wolsey Lodge guests.
