A warm welcome in the heart of East Anglia

Crown House B&B offers wonderfully comfortable accommodation in an attractive Suffolk village, surrounded by idyllic countryside and close to the coast. Its core dates back to the 16th century, updated with a Georgian facade, and it has been beautifully restored to offer every modern comfort. Crown House is a B&B sleeping six guests but is also available on a whole-house basis, in which case it sleeps eight.

There are three guest bedrooms, all with ensuite facilities. All have king-sized mahogany sleigh beds dressed with pocket sprung mattresses, fine down duvets and pillows and crisp white linens.

The most romantic is probably the Turret Room. This is located on the first floor and the oldest part of the house: it has a private lobby and a private bathroom – with a free-standing roll-top bath – one floor above. Steep winding stairs and the occasional low beam add character.

The Rose Room is also on the first floor, a double aspect room with an ensuite bathroom with shower over the bath. And while Crown House does not officially offer twin accommodation there is also a Spare Room that can be used along with one of the other en-suite rooms for a small charge: this can be useful for families.

The Garden Room is, as its name would suggest, on the ground floor, with a lovely outlook onto the front garden, a private lobby and a shower room with a very large, walk-in shower.

Guests aren’t confined to their rooms here. There is of course the breakfast room, but there’s also a lovely guest sitting room, and there’s a beautiful garden that bursts with colour through the long East Anglian summers.

Crown House can sleep six guests on a B&B basis, in which case they share the house with two friendly Boston terriers. Crown House can also be taken on a whole-house self-catering: on this basis it will sleep 8 and, with no terriers in situ, can then accommodate well-behaved dogs.
