The Old Vicarage
Norton, Presteigne, Radnorshire, Powys, LD8 2EN, WalesEscape from the hubbub and experience Victorian luxury living at its finest …
The spectacular Welsh Marches and Powys countryside are the perfect backdrop for The Old Vicarage, a Gothic style B&B on the edge of the village of Norton. Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s on the bailey of a Norman castle it has recently undergone a complete renovation and is now a perfect luxury bed and breakfast retreat.
Every room inside The Old Vicarage is testament to your host Paul’s attention to detail, from the period fixtures such as the restored servants’ bells, exquisite gas, oil and electric light fittings, richly coloured wallpaper and fabrics, to the lovingly collected Victorian furniture.
The B&B guest bedrooms are each uniquely furnished with antiques offering a complete haven for comfort and relaxation. Both the Green Price room and the Gilbert Scott room have king size double beds whilst the Burlison room has a super king-size four poster bed.
Outside, the landscaped gardens were designed by Chelsea award winner Paul Cooper and B&B guests can enjoy exploring the paths, walkways, follies, pond, and waterfall that are to be found in this delightful and tranquil garden with the stunning countryside of Wales all around.
