North Walls House
43 North Street, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1NF, England, West Sussex, England, South EastGallery
A musical introduction to Chichester’s historic heart
A Bluthner grand piano sets the tone for a classical stay in West Sussex’s gentle capital. A great location within Chichester‘s city walls, plentiful parking and an eight-bedroom grade II* listed period property makes North Walls House B&B a natural choice for your next visit to England’s southern coast.
This much-loved family home with a magnificent staircase and oriel window was extensively renovated in 2016/17 with the bedrooms classically furnished to match its Georgian heritage. Comforts are assured, with excellent beds and wifi throughout. Accommodation is ultimately flexible and groups can be easily catered for, with an adjacent coach house set up for musical practice and performance.
Guests here aren’t limited to their bedrooms. The drawing room, with its Bechstein grand piano, is an elegant space to relax, with an open fire to blaze away the chill of cooler months. There are books, games and jigsaws to entertain every taste. Drill down into the house and there’s even more of interest: the cellar dates back to the time of James the First, who reigned from 1603 to 1625.
Even though you’re in the heart of the city French windows lead down stone steps to a delightful walled garden, with mature trees, flower beds and an extensive lawn. In the garden or inside North Walls House you feel totally tranquil.
