A Grade II Listed welcome in the heart of West Sussex
Brookhill House Bed and Breakfast is a glorious family mansion B&B with two guest bedrooms, set on the edge of a village in rural West Sussex. It’s half an hour from Brighton and 20 minutes from Gatwick, but it’s not on the flightpath: tranquility rules. It’s a perfect haven for visitors to Glyndebourne or the racecourse at Goodwood, but it’s a great destination B&B in its own right.
It’s not just the house that’s Grade II Listed – the four acre gardens are too. It has one of those iconic gardens that makes visiting Sussex and Kent such a treat. Accommodation is in two guest bedrooms. The Green Room is a beautifully appointed double bedroom on the first floor, with an ensuite shower/loo and wash basin in the room, with lovely views over the garden. The Attic Suite is a large room on the second floor, with a king-sized bed and a sofa: again the garden views are great, opening up over the surrounding fields. This doesn’t have an ensuite bathroom, but it has a private bathroom – with a semi-sunken bath – just across the landing.
Breakfasts are served in the elegant dining room, with a choice of cereals, breads and fresh fruit salad. The main event can be continental or fully-cooked to order: special diets and requests can always be catered for.
Brookhill House has two resident labradors who welcome well-behaved dogs. The resident dogs aren’t allowed upstairs and neither are visiting dogs: they sleep together in the utility room or on their own in the kitchen.
Brookhill House B&B suggests:
Brookhill House is a No Smoking property, but unlike some B&Bs that issue a blanket ban Brookhill House has a small courtyard where guests are welcome to smoke.

"Absolutely charming house with very hospitable hosts… lovely rooms, friendly dogs, tasty breakfast. We couldn’t have felt more welcome, particularly when one of the group was unwell - Jenny went beyond the call of duty to help. Would stay again without a moment’s hesitation." Will, 2022Features
