The Wolsey Lodges prize for July is a two-night stay for two Glebe House Muston, a beautiful Georgian mansion set in sixteen sheep-filled Leicestershire acres. Glebe House is in the Grantham area, in the famous Vale of Belvoir – there are views of Belvoir castle from the grounds – and is close to the borders with Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
Glebe House Muston has a history of its own. It was originally a Rectory for the local church, when it established links to the poets George Crabbe and Lord Byron. Now it has been sympathetically restored, in line with its Georgian heritage, to offer three guest bedrooms for bed and breakfast guests. All are light, airy and ensuite, with luxury linens, premium toiletries and bathrobes and slippers provided.
The downstairs rooms are equally beautiful, with a music room complete with grand piano and open wood fire. Head outside and you’ll find beautiful grounds, with formal flower beds, a croquet lawn, vegetable garden and paddock. In all it’s a lovely place to stay.
A two-night stay at Glebe House Muston for two consecutive nights for two in a twin or double room
Breakfast each morning of your stay
A complimentary bottle of Glebe House wine (your host’s long and varied CV includes some time as a wine merchant. So it’s not from the UK but France).
The prize is to be taken this year (2021) and is not transferable.
