Simply stunning views, coupled with attentive and unobtrusive service
Situated right on the South West Coast path, overlooking Lynmouth Bay and across to Wales, this large Victorian cliff top residence has been a guest house since 1880. Many generations have enjoyed the breathtaking views, either dining on the terrace, from their rooms or as they wander the garden.
Inside it offers 21st Century comfort while recognising its Victorian heritage. This Wolsey Lodge is homely and welcoming, yet understatedly stylish with stripped pine boards, open fires, an eclectic rug collection and a cosy sitting room packed with books and local information.
Bedrooms have wonderful sea views, en suite facilities, furniture made by local craftsmen and the king size doubles have brass beds with orthopedic mattresses. Egyptian cotton linen, heated towel rails and designer toiletries, there’s everything you need for a relaxing, home away from home stay.
Organic ingredients, locally sourced, feature prominently on the breakfast and dinner menus. Meals are served at the large farmhouse style table in the dining room which overlooks the sea. The homemade granola is especially popular with bed and breakfast guests, as are freshly baked homemade bread and home produced preserves.

Where Exmoor meets the sea it’s the perfect base for exploring the North Devon coast. Lynton and its twin village Lymouth are ‘Jewels in the Crown’ of Exmoor National Park. Walkers are in their element, as are wildlife lovers, photographers and anyone loving the great outdoors. But there are also National Trust properties, steam railways, craft centres and much, much more for guests to discover.
“We have enjoyed our stay with you so very much. Thank you for your lovely meals, the suggestions for beautiful walks and sharing your beautiful house with us. We had a great holiday at North Walk House and Exmoor”
