Barclay Farmhouse, BiddendenWoolpack Corner, Tenterden Rd, Biddenden, Ashford TN27 8BH, England
A stylish rural retreat in the heart of Kent
Barclay Farmhouse offers first-class luxury 5 star bed and breakfast accommodation in the quiet, historic village of Biddenden, in the heart of Kent. The accommodation is based around a former farmhouse and outbuildings dating back over 200 years, with an acre of gardens and a wildlife pond providing plenty of opportunities to sit out and relax.
The two guest rooms – and a breakfast room – are set in a recently converted barn just apart from the main farmhouse, meaning all the facilities are up-to-date and guests can be sure of peace and quiet. One bedroom is on the ground floor, the other is above; both have kingsized beds with en-suite power showers. Breakfast uses locally sourced ingredients where possible and is rarely wholly conventional: your hostess is of the philosophy that even breakfast presents an opportunity to try something new. Special diets – and even those who insist they just want a full English breakfast as set down in law – can also be accommodated if required.
The pond is deep so sadly no children under 12 – or dogs – are allowed, but for adults in search of peace Barclay Farmhouse is a great bolt-hole and getaway for a quiet few days relaxation, contemplation or thought.
